1. Infrastructure

 

gai thong.jpgDaknong's transportation network is mainly by roads; it does not have rail-way and air-way.
 
For the national highway system: there are three main routes with the total length of 310 km, mostly has been covered with asphalt. The rest of 89.5 km is gravel road. These routes include: National Highway no.14 (km 733-Km 887) across the province with the total length of 155km, running through the territory of all the districts in the province (except Krong No district), it links Dak Nong province with other provinces in the Central Highlands and southern provinces; National highway no.14C (Km 70 - Km 168), this section runs across the province with the total length of 98km and passes through the districts Dak Mil, Dak Song, and Dak R'lap (leading to Buk Prang border gate) which hasn't been upgraded yet, there are still 89.5km of gravel roads; National Highway no.28 (Km121 - Km179) links Dak Nong province with Lam Dong province and the Central provinces, this section runs across the province with length of 58km.
 
Currently, Dak Nong province has invested to upgrade, renovate and expande routes like widening National Highway no.14 across Gia Nghia, Dak Mil and Dak R'Lap; widening National Highway no.28 across Gia Nghia and Quang Khe townlet; building National Highway no.28 avoiding Dong Nai 3-4 hydroelectric dam and renovating National Highway 14C. The percentage of asphalted roads on National Highway routes rose up 76%.
 
For the provincial road system: there are six routes with the total length of 318km, in which there are 192 kilometers of land road accounting for 60,4% including: provincial road no.681: Kien Duc - Tuy Duc route with the length is 36km; provincial road no.682: Duc Manh - Dak Song route is about 24km long; provincial road no.683: Dak Mil - Krong No route with the length is 40km; provincial road no.684: Gia Nghia - Cu jut route is 111km long; provincial road no.685: Kien Duc - Cai Chanh route is 45km long; provincial road no.684: Dak Buk So - Quang Son toute is 62km long. The system of provincial roads were asphalted about 120km in the past five years, the percentage of asphalted roads in the province rose up 84%.
 
The district roads:  The district roads have the total length of 497 km, in which they are mainly land roads. In the 2006 - 2010 periods, the province renewed asphalted roads round about 171 km, the percentage of asphalted roads in all communes increased by 65%.
 
The Commune, hamlet and village roads: there are round about 2.173 km, mainly land road. So far, there have been 100% of total communes with large roads leading to commune centers; however, only 17.6% of the roads have just been asphalted, these roads mainly run across towns and commune centers. The period of 2006 - 2010, the road system of commune, hamlet and village has been renovated 307 km of asphalted roads, the percentage of asphalted roads went up 21%. There are 30 villages, hamlets to be covered with asphalted roads; It raises the number of villages which have asphalt roads up 69/139, the rate of hamlets and villages is asphalted up 50%.
 
 
2. Electric infrastructure:
 
The electric source is used for production and daily life in Dak Nong province, mainly from national electric network; the province has invested, built up andha tang 2.jpg operated 110KV - 16 MVA Station.The electric system has been covered all of the communes in the province with 04 transformer stations 110KV; the power grid is distributed 86.5 km of the electric lines 35KV; 1.517km of medium voltage power grid 10 kV and 22 kV; 1.223 km of low voltage power grid and 1.098 transformer stations for additional charge, with the total output capacity of 161.730,5 kVA. In industrial and handicraft areas, the provinve is also urgently supplying electricity for enterprises which consume an enormous amount of output capacity such as: MDF Long Viet wood company, Khai Vy wood company, Nhan Co aluminum plant,..etc..
 
The electric grid system is being improved, upgraded and expanded to far and remote areas. In the past five years, there have been many projects to be deployed and built such as: the project of 10 hamlets and villages with medium voltage lines passing through; the program of 10 hamlets and villages of revolutionary base; 20 villages of ethnic minorities; the program of 37 hamlets and villages of the rural energy project. Besides, the province is currently implementing the project of 116 hamlets and villages of the program supplying the electricity for five provinces in Central Highlands of the government. Until the late 2010, the number of hamlets and villages which have the national grid reached 100%, rate of households in the province using to the electric power reached 90%.
 
The electric output consumes in the whole province increased with high relative speed, the average of 2006 - 2010 period reached 23.7% per year.
 
 
3. Irrigation:

The province has invested to build 74 irrigation works, upgraded 9 irrigation stations and 2 pumping stations. Up to present, the total irrigation works have been completed and come into operation is 186. The irrigation works mentioned above supply water for 2-crop rice paddy of 4.104 ha and 18.232 ha of coffee plants, meet the needs of water supply for 44% of area.
 
For the living water supply: the rate of households uses the fresh water reaching 70%. Especially, the rate of households uses the fresh water in urban areas, towns and villages of ethnic minorities reached over 90 %; the province is currently striving to enhance the rate of households using the fresh water to reach the goal of 85% in 2012.                   
 
For drainage: the province is investing to build the water collecting and sewage processing systems; especially in urban areas and industrial clusters.
 
 
4. Post and Telecommunications:
 
The entire system of telecommunications have been developed both scale and quality. To date, in the whole province, there have been 10 post offices,ha tang 4.jpg
43 communes' cultural postal points, 107 multi-services postal agents; it is estimated that the postal and telecommunication services have reached the average number of 3.037 citizens per service point within the average radius of 3,6 kilometers.
 
The system of telecommunications have been covered widely from the provincial center to all districts and almost all communes in the province. The system of fiber cable network has a total length of 2.314 km and the system of copper cable network is 319 km. The total subscribers of fixed telephones is 82.131, fixed telephone density is 18,7 telephones per 100 citizens. The mobile telephone services are supplied by six enterprises including: Vinaphone, MobiFone, Viettel, Sfone, EVN Telecom, Vietnamobile. The total BTS station is 592; the total post-paid mobile subscribers is 30.612.  
 By the year 2010, there have been 100% of communes having the fixed telephone; the fiber cable has been pulled on the communes reaching the rate of 80% and 100% of center areas of the communes in the province have mobile signal. In addition, the telecommunication services such as 3G mobile services, services to get access to internet through 3G mobile network, bandwidth internet services (ADSL) and internet protocol television service (IPTV) have been deployed; meet the needs of the people and ensure communication information serving the steering and management of levels, departments; contribute to socio-economic development and guarantee national security - defense of the local.
 
 
5. Industrial clusters
 
ha tang 5.jpgDak Nong has invested nearly 1.000 billion dong to build the infrastructure of two industrial zones: Tam Thang (Cu Jut district) and Nhan Co (DakR'lap district). Besides, the province has also deployed the infrastructure investment of industrial clusters Dak Ha ( Dak Glong), Dak Song, Krong No, Quang Tam ( Duc Thuan), Thuan An ( Dak Mil) and the industrial cluster in Gia Nghia town to aim at attracting enterprises coming to invest in the province.
 
According to the statistics, Tam Thang industrial zone has an area of 181 ha; its infrastructure has basically been completed. Currently, there are 20 projects under the operation, 4 projects under the basic construction and 06 projects registered investment; it is estimated that the total registered investment capital is 1.186,6 billion dong, in which the implemented capital is 800,6 billion dong. the rate of invested capital in industrial zones is 56,4 %. Nhan Co industrial zone has an area of 95ha, it mainly serves the bauxite mining industry and refines alumina. Currently, the province is investing the project of Nhan Co Alumin production plant with a capacity of  650,000 tons per year, the total investment is over 12,000 billion dong; it is anticipated that the plant will have been completed and come into operation by the year 2012.                      
 
By the  late 2010, the industrial zones focus on attracting 189 valid projects, the invested capital is US$ 1,7 billion; the implemented capital is about US$ 680 million, accounting for 40 % of the total registered capital. Yearly, these industrial zones attract and create jobs for about 5.000 - 10.000 employees. As the province's orientation, the industrial clusters and zones must be  closely associated with production, process and consumption of forestry products; focus on developing industry and occupational handicraft in rural areas associated with the potentials, strengths of the province.

There are 30 villages, hamlets to be covered with asphalted roads; It raises the number of villages which have asphalt roads up 69/139, the rate of hamlets and villages is asphalted up 50%.
