Dak Nong launches the planting of 1,300 trees to mark the Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh in 2025
On the morning of May 19, in Gia Nghia City, the People's Committee of Dak Nong Province held a ceremony to launch the “Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh” and initiate the 2025 campaign for concentrated afforestation and scattered tree planting. This meaningful event commemorates the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh (May 19, 1890 – May 19, 2025) and celebrates the Party Congresses at all levels leading up to the 14th National Party Congress.

The launching ceremony took place in a solemn atmosphere with the attendance of numerous delegates, including: Mr. Ngo Thanh Danh – Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Dak Nong National Assembly Delegation; Mr. Luu Van Trung – Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mr. Ho Van Muoi – Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Le Trong Yen – Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee.

Also in attendance were leaders of the Provincial Party Committee, People’s Council, People’s Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dak Nong; representatives of departments, agencies, armed forces, and over 300 youth union members from across the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Le Trong Yen emphasized that planting trees and forests not only contributes to environmental protection and the improvement of natural landscapes but also serves as a practical act of deep gratitude to beloved President Ho Chi Minh – who initiated and continuously encouraged tree planting and forestation throughout his revolutionary life.

Representing the youth of Dak Nong, Mr. Pham Hoang Son delivered a response speech, expressing the volunteer spirit and enthusiasm of young people in the efforts to plant trees, protect forests, and preserve a green – clean – beautiful environment.

This year’s launching ceremony marks the beginning of a province-wide tree and forest planting campaign, implemented simultaneously on May 19, 2025, with a total of 1,300 trees planted. The program is part of the 2025 afforestation season and supports the Prime Minister’s initiative to plant 1 billion trees. It is expected that Dak Nong Province will plant approximately 73,000 trees in 2025.

Immediately after the ceremony, delegates and youth union members participated in commemorative and scattered tree planting activities following the layout arranged by the organizers. These meaningful actions help raise community awareness about environmental protection and uphold the noble tradition, as President Ho Chi Minh once taught: “For the sake of ten years, plant trees. For the sake of a hundred years, cultivate people.”

The 2025 launching ceremony of the “Tree Planting Festival in Eternal Gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh” and afforestation campaign in Dak Nong is not only an environmental activity but also an opportunity to educate future generations, inspire a sense of responsibility, and foster awareness of forest protection—especially among the youth, the future stewards of the nation.
