Strengthening the Traditional Friendship between Women of Đak Nong Province and Mondulkiri Province (Cambodia)
Conference on sharing experiences on the work of the Association and women's movement between the Dak Nong Provincial Women's Union and the Cambodian Women's Union for Peace and Development of Mondulkiri Province (Cambodia)
The delegation from Mondulkiri Province was led by Ms. Ma Ly Sok Ni, Chairwoman of the Cambodian Women's Association for Peace and Development of Mondulkiri Province, along with many leaders of women’s associations from Mondulkiri’s districts and cities.
Welcoming and working with the delegation, Đak Nong was represented by Ms. Ha Thi Hanh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Đak Nong Province; Ms. Ton Thị Ngoc Hanh, Member of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice-Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee; and Ms. H’Vi EBan, Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Women's Union and Chairwoman of the Provincial Women’s Union, along with representatives from various departments and agencies.

In her opening remarks, Ms. H’Vi EBan emphasized the long-standing special traditional relationship between Vietnam and Cambodia, built on mutual support throughout history. This relationship, nurtured by the governments and people of both countries, has become an invaluable shared asset. Building on past achievements, Đak Nong and Mondulkiri have been actively cooperating across various sectors, fostering rapid and sustainable development in their friendship.
Ms. Ha Thi Hanh shared key achievements of the Đak Nong Women’s Union, highlighting efforts that have helped 912 women escape poverty or near-poverty, reducing the overall poverty rate in the province to 5.18% by 2023. She also noted the Union's success in promoting the “Two Breakthroughs and Three Core Tasks” initiative, improving the material and spiritual well-being of women and advancing gender equality.
Ms. Ha Thi Hanh believes that the relationship between women of the two provinces will become increasingly strong, continuing to contribute to the stability and development of the two countries' border in the future
"In the context of the rapidly evolving world and regional situation, the two countries are facing intertwined opportunities and challenges; we need to continue to strengthen and consolidate this traditional friendship, special solidarity, loyalty and purity", emphasized Member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee Ha Thi Hanh.
In recent years, Đak Nong and Mondulkiri have implemented practical cooperation efforts, fostering a peaceful and friendly border, promoting socio-economic development, and improving the lives of residents in both provinces. Ms. Ha Thi Hanh expressed confidence that the relationship between the women of the two provinces would continue to strengthen, contributing to border stability and development.

The Đak Nong Women’s Union has actively collaborated with relevant sectors to conduct international exchange programs. Notably, the Union has effectively implemented the “Accompanying Border Women” program, partnering with the Provincial Border Guard Command to raise awareness about territorial sovereignty, border security, and combating human trafficking and illegal border crossings. Initiatives such as the “Women’s Border Protection Club” and livelihood support models for border-area women have also been successful.
In a spirit of friendship and solidarity, women representatives from both provinces shared their experiences in strengthening and developing their organizations and discussed solutions to enhance future cooperation. They emphasized mobilizing women to protect border security and maintain peaceful, developed border areas.
The conference is part of the “Cooperation Agreement for Peace and Development” for the 2022-2027 period, signed between the Đắk Nông Women's Union and the Cambodian Women’s Association for Peace and Development of Mondulkiri Province. This event provides opportunities for women from both provinces to meet, exchange experiences, and discuss initiatives to support comprehensive women’s development.
