Dak Nong receives the title of UNESCO Dak Nong Global Geopark for the second time in 2024
On the evening of December 26, in the joyful atmosphere of preparing to welcome a new spring, Dak Nong province solemnly held the Ceremony to receive the title of UNESCO Dak Nong Global Geopark for the second time in 2024. This is an honor and pride for the continuous efforts of the Party committees, authorities and people of all ethnic groups in Dak Nong province in the journey to reach an international brand.

The journey "arduous but full of sweet fruits"
Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the province, comrade Ho Van Muoi, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee expressed his deep gratitude to the ministries, branches and central agencies, especially the Vietnam National Commission for UNESCO, the Institute of Geosciences and Mineral Resources, domestic and foreign experts, international partners, partners inside and outside the province and the local community who have supported and accompanied Dak Nong province on the "arduous but full of sweet fruits" journey of the Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark.
This title marks an important turning point, bringing Dak Nong province officially into the UNESCO Global Geopark Network, including 213 destinations in 48 countries around the world. This is an honor and pride for the high political determination and the continuous efforts of the Party committees, authorities and people of all ethnic groups in Dak Nong province in the journey to reach an international brand.

Comrade Ho Van Muoi especially affirmed the role of Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark in the province's socio-economic development strategy: "Developing tourism on the basis of promoting natural advantages, cultural values - indigenous ecological characteristics, Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark is one of the three pillars of the local economy" In addition, the conservation of landscapes, geological and cultural values and raising public awareness have been implemented synchronously, helping Dak Nong increasingly affirm its position on the international tourism map.

In the coming time, Dak Nong province will focus on synchronously implementing important tasks, including preserving heritage values, attracting investment, and developing the Geopark brand, contributing to promoting sustainable tourism and improving the lives of local people.
