Đắk Nông sets a target of 8% GRDP growth in 2025
The Government has just issued a Resolution on the national growth target of 8% or more in 2025. In particular, the GRDP growth target of Dak Nong province is 8%.

To achieve this goal, Đắk Nông identifies economic growth promotion as a key solution to drive the province’s socio-economic development in 2025. Departments, sectors, and localities will focus on implementing key measures under Directive No. 01 of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee with urgency and determination.

Early start for Gia Nghĩa - Chơn Thành Expressway

One of the province’s key projects in 2025 is the western North-South Expressway section from Gia Nghĩa (Đắk Nông) to Chơn Thành (Bình Phước). The project is expected to be substantially completed by 2026 and put into operation in 2027.

The project is divided into five component projects. The Đắk Nông Provincial People's Committee is responsible for managing the construction of frontage roads, overpasses, and the compensation, support, and resettlement project for the section passing through Đắk Nông.

In recent times, the Party Committee of the Provincial People's Committee has led and directed relevant departments and localities to coordinate and implement tasks to ensure the project's timely execution. To date, Đắk Nông province has planned to allocate VND 250 billion for project implementation.

By February 28, 2025, local authorities are expected to submit the feasibility study report for appraisal and approval. Investors are currently developing task outlines and consulting cost estimates to proceed with consultant contractor selection as per regulations.

According to Đắk Nông Provincial Party Secretary Ngô Thanh Danh, this expressway is of strategic importance in terms of economy, society, national defense, and security. By April 30, Đắk Nông is determined to commence construction on a section of the Gia Nghĩa - Chơn Thành Expressway, following the Prime Minister’s directive.

Attracting large investment projects

In 2025, Đắk Nông will intensify efforts to attract large-scale investment projects that have a significant impact on local socio-economic development. A particular focus will be on bauxite mining projects, aligning with the province’s ambition to become the national hub for bauxite mining and aluminum refining.

According to Đắk Nông Provincial People's Committee Chairman Hồ Văn Mười, the province aims to complete investment procedures for at least two bauxite mining projects under the approved plan.

Đắk Nông has more than 173,000 hectares designated for bauxite mining projects by 2030, accounting for 27.8% of the province’s total natural area. Currently, five investors have submitted applications for approval to develop integrated bauxite processing plants.

The Provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Planning and Investment to advise the government on approving the establishment of an additional bauxite processing plant and defining areas where mining rights auctions will not be required, as recommended by the Ministry of National Defense.

Additionally, the province is focusing on developing projects such as integrated ore selection - alumina - aluminum plants, purified water and fruit processing plants in Đắk Mil and Đắk Glong, and a dairy farm complex in Đắk Glong. Efforts are also being made to ensure the stable operation of the Đắk Nông Aluminum Company - TKV.

Accelerating public investment disbursement from the start of the year

In 2025, Đắk Nông will prioritize accelerating public investment disbursement early in the year, using public investment as a catalyst to stimulate private sector investments. The province is committed to fully disbursing its 2025 public investment plan and the medium-term public investment plan for 2021-2025.

Key infrastructure projects, including strategic highways, interregional and interprovincial roads, and major provincial projects, will be expedited. These include: the central square in Gia Nghĩa City, the upgrade of the Đắk Nông General Hospital, the Đạo Nghĩa - Quảng Khê Road Project, the Gia Nghĩa Reservoir Project, the Đắk Nông Provincial Museum, Library, and Park Complex.

The province is also committed to maximizing budget revenue collection while ensuring efficient expenditure management. Efforts will be made to combat revenue losses, explore new revenue sources, reduce regular expenditures, and enhance financial transparency. Resources will be prioritized for development investment and social welfare programs.

Revitalizing traditional growth drivers

Besides major investment projects, Đắk Nông will implement specific measures to revitalize traditional growth drivers such as investment, consumption, and exports. The province will also promote digital transformation, green economy, and circular economy initiatives.

Efforts will be made to restructure key economic sectors, improve labor productivity, and enhance economic competitiveness. The agricultural sector will be restructured towards modernization, focusing on sustainability, high-value production, and eco-friendly practices. The province will also support high-tech industrial livestock farming and develop agricultural brands while investing in climate-resilient rural infrastructure.

Additionally, Đắk Nông will push for administrative reforms, simplify procedures, and enhance online public services to support businesses.
