Dak Nong is a region with a long cultural tradition blessed by nature with many majestic landscapes, many scenic spots and landscapes that have been recognized by UNESCO as a Global Geopark. These potentials and advantages are being exploited and promoted by Dak Nong province for sustainable economic and social development.
Dak Ha commune, Dak Glong district is one of the destinations on the "song of water and fire" route in the heritage of Daknong UNESCO Global Geopark. Mr. K'Bang, M'Nong ethnic group, a weaving artisan in Bon Ting Wel Dang, Dak Ha commune said that the province chose bon as a stop of heritage and the orientation of building community tourism has opened up the direction of economic development for local people. The M'Nong people here are ready to integrate with the trend of service tourism development .
Along with the journey to the heritage area of Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark, Krong No district is a locality with many natural landscapes with ethnic minority communities still imbued with traditional culture. Mr. Y Su Hlong who lives in Bon Dru, Dak Mam town, Krong No district, is proud that his hometown is one of the regions rich in cultural identity and has many famous landscapes. For example, Dray Sap waterfall, a volcanic cave system.
"I am very glad to see beautiful landscapes such as Dray Sap waterfall or volcanic caves being put into exploitation and promoted along with traditional culture for economic and social development. Many local people have also participated into tourism and life services have improved," said Mr. Y Su Hlong.
Ta Dung Lake with nearly 40 large and small islands is likened to be "Ha Long Bay on the Central Highlands"
According to Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee, the province is blessed with variety of rich tourism resources, a lot of majestic natural landscapes, beautiful sceneries, and scenic spots. It is a series of majestic waterfalls such as Dak G'lun, Dray Sap, Gia Long, Trinh Nu hidden in forests.
Besides, there is a system of volcanic caves, Nam Nung Nature Reserve, Ta Dung National Park, Ta Dung Lake with nearly 40 large and small islands which are likened to "Ha Long Bay on the Central Highlands". Particularly, Dak Nong is enriched by cultural traditions with 40 ethnic groups living together. All create a private space with the UNESCO Dak Nong Global Geopark which has been recognized by the world.
C7 volcanic cave of Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark has a length of more than 1,240m.
In order to promote those potentials and strong points, the Resolution of the 12th Party Congress of Daknong province definites tourism development as one of three economic pillars of the province.
Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh said that with specific decisions and directions, over the years, Dak Nong is gradually putting tourism on the world map: “ synchronizing and connecting all types of jobs is necessary and we have gradually built models, points that go into depth of education and raise awareness of the community.
How can people understand, connect and they are themselves to be the subjects of the preservation, promotion and development of heritages, step by step maintaining, restoring, promoting, developing and preserving the favorable customs and practices of ethnic groups. Preserving culture as a product for tourism development and accompanying the province's economic and social development".
On the basis of unique culture, majestic natural landscapes, cool climate all the time and the right investment orientations which is hoped that Dak Nong tourism will rise strongly, attracting tourists to the heritage area of Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark in the near future.
