Bang Mo Volcano is recognized as a provincial-level heritage site
The Bang Mo Volcano scenic site, located in Residential Group 4, Ea T’ling Town, Dak Nong, has been officially recognized as a provincial-level heritage site. This volcano is a typical example of a central eruption type, dating back 200,000 - 600,000 years.
On the morning of March 18, the People's Committee of Cu Jut District (Dak Nong) held a joyful and enthusiastic ceremony to receive the provincial-level heritage recognition certificate for the Bang Mo Volcano scenic site in Residential Group 4, Ea T’ling Town.

Attending the event were Mr. Y Quang BKrông, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh, Provincial Party Committee Member and Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; along with leaders of various departments, agencies, local authorities, and a large number of residents.
Bang Mo Volcano features a truncated cone shape with a sunken center, an oval-shaped rim, and a funnel-shaped crater. It is the 15th of 41 sites within the Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark and serves as the first stop on the "Symphony of New Winds" tourist route, which follows National Highway 14 through Cu Jut, Dak Mil, and Dak Song districts.
With its geological history rooted in the Mnong Plateau, Bang Mo Volcano holds traces of Earth's formation that transcend time and space.
On September 10, 2024, the Dak Nong Provincial People's Committee issued Decision No. 1082/QD-UBND, officially recognizing the Bang Mo Volcano scenic site in Residential Group 4, Ea T’ling Town, Cu Jut District, as a provincial-level heritage site.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee Ton Thi Ngoc Hanh urged local authorities, the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, and other relevant agencies to develop management, protection, and promotion plans for the Bang Mo Volcano scenic site, as well as other geological heritage sites and natural landmarks in the province.

She emphasized the need for tourism programs that connect the Bang Mo Volcano with other heritage sites in the region, forming a comprehensive tourism network within the Dak Nong UNESCO Global Geopark and the province.
Additionally, to further enhance the site's value, promotional and cultural heritage awareness campaigns should be intensified. Strengthening tourism product development and raising public awareness will ensure the sustainable preservation and promotion of the site’s distinctive geological and cultural significance, reflecting the unique identity of the Central Highlands.
